Malmö University is Sweden’s eighth largest university of undergraduate studies and has six school and faculty areas, all of which are multi-disciplinary. Babeş-Bolyai University is one of the largest institutions in Romania which has gained a solid national and international reputation thanks to its achievements down through the decades. It has 21 faculties, with more than 45,500 students and several research institutes. Located in a geographical area characterized by the presence of diverse ethnic and religious groups, the University adheres to a policy of multiculturalism, its students and teaching staff being Romanian, as well as Hungarian, German and Roma.

The Zentrum für Zeithistorische Forschung (ZZF) is an institute organised along interdisciplinary lines and focused on research on German and European contemporary history. Based in Potsdam, ZZF is a member of the Leibniz Gemeinschaft (WGL).
Originally established in 1992, against the background of German reunification, as Geisteswissenschaftliches Zentrum for research in the humanities, it was funded first by the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung wissenschaftlicher Neuvorhaben; since 1996 it has been funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and the State of Brandenburg.
